Description
This course is designed as a survey of political, economic and social developments of the United States from the end of the Civil War in 1865 to the beginning of the twenty-first century.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Identify the issues of the post-Civil War era and Reconstruction.
- Explain the rise of industrialization, big business and the Populist and Progressive movements.
- Describe the causes and results of World War I.
- Explain the causes and results of the Great Depression.
- Explain the causes of World War II and the issues of the Cold War.
- Describe the concepts of the Civil Rights movement and political, economic and social issues of modern America.
