MMT 131 - Intro to OSHA/Industrial Hygiene Credits: 1 1 Lecture Hours
Description This course will serve as an introduction to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)and Industrial Hygiene concepts. The topics covered are those required under OSHA’s Outreach Training Program Guidelines. Upon Completion of this course, students will receive an OSHA 10 General Industry training completion card. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Define OSHA, the OSH Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and industrial hygiene concepts.
- Explain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), walking and working surfaces, exit routes and hazard communication.
- Describe materials handling, hazardous materials, electrical safety and health programs.
- Cite the OSHA outreach training program guidelines.
- Pass an OSHA 10 hour general industry standard assessment.
