Description
A study of problems of inequality, problems of the global setting, problems of the life cycle, problems caused by violating social norms and other related issues. Discussed are underlying processes, the interpretation of statistics and social policies that address these social problems.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- State the theories regarding the origins of the social problems that confront society today.
- Describe the social problems confronting modern American society.
- Engage in analytical thinking regarding contemporary social problems.
- Analyze alternative hypotheses for the causes and etiology of various social ills.
