ATE 234 - Standard Transmission/Transaxle/Drivetrain

Description
This course introduces the student to the design, assembly, operation and diagnostic procedures for clutches, manual transmissions and transaxles, differential components and drive axle components. Drivetrain vibration analysis and noise correction are also discussed. Certain course sections are manufacturer-specific.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Disassemble and reassemble a manual transmission or transaxle.
- Disassemble and reassemble a differential assembly.
- Disassemble and reassemble an all-wheel drive transfer case.
- Perform on-car diagnostic procedures relating to various drivetrain systems and all-wheel drive systems.
- Perform on-car diagnostic procedures regarding noise and vibration.
