Description
This is a course which examines aspects of hotel and restaurant law, government regulations, and insurance and their impact on the hospitality industry. Special emphasis is placed on employee relations, food liability, liquor liability and patron civil rights.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

Identify and describe legal procedures.
Recognize negligent activities.
Examine the legal relationships and obligations between the hospitality operation, guests and other patrons.
Differentiate between the protection of patron, property and guest rights.
Review employment licensing and regulation.
Identify state statues dealing with defrauding the innkeeper and intoxication.
