AVT 103 - Air Traffic Control Systems Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Co-requisites: AVT 101 or as approved by the Aviation coordinator
Description This course introduces common aviation terminology and expands upon basic Private Pilot aeronautical knowledge. Students study the development, growth and usage of the air traffic control system with emphasis on its use in the United States. In addition, proper cross-country planning procedures are illustrated. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Describe routine aeronautical processes.
- Identify airport signage.
- Discuss navigation aids as applied to flight.
- Illustrate proper cross-country planning procedures.
- Describe air traffic control procedures and services.
- Define common aviation terms.
- Demonstrate principles of flight as it applies to air traffic control.
