BUS 101 - Introduction to Business Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Description This course provides a foundation in modern business and business practices including principles of management, marketing and human resource management. The operation of business in a free enterprise system, the government’s role in business and forms of business ownership are discussed. Learning Outcomes Upon completion of the course, the student will:
- Identify the fundamentals of business organizations, their function, role and impact on the economy.
- Explain the importance of ethical standards and social responsibility in the business environment.
- Discuss the role of the Federal Reserve, monetary and fiscal policy in the managment of the economy.
- Describe the opportunities and barriers to international business and the strategies for participating in a global economy.
- Compare the major forms of business ownership.
- Describe the function of human resource management in an organization.
- Differentiate between the various marketing strategies.
