BUS 221 - Production Management Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Description This course introduces students to the management of operations in manufacturing and service organizations. Students explore the use of forecasting, logistics and continuous improvement tools and techniques to assist managers in making decisions. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Explain the relationship between operations management and productivity.
- Assess how the functions of management are used to meet organizational objectives.
- Differentiate direct and indirect costs needed in the manufacturing process.
- Apply a variety of problem solving techniques to assist in decision making.
- Compare methods of forecasting.
