EDT 107 - Compliance and Safety Training Credits: 5 5 Skills Lab Hours
Description Students in this course gain essential knowledge of federal and state regulations as they relate to work in the electric utility industry. Areas covered include OSHA-required courses and supplemental training relating to Compliance and Safety CDL Training. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Identify the personal protection equipment for head, foot, hearing, eyes and face.
- Perform vehicle flagging operations in a work area using PennDOT safety requirements.
- Demonstrate safe use of glove, sleeve and dielectric boot protection in high voltage applications.
- Perform a bucket truck rescue.
- Perform an enclosed space rescue and atmospheric monitoring.
- Identify and safely use fall protection equipment.
- Perform standard First Aid, CPR and AED functions.
- Identify and safely use ground fault circuit interrupters.
- Recount requirements for spill cleanup and OSHA Hazard Communication Standards (HCS).
- Name substation entry procedures.
