Description
This course provides students with the knowledge and specialized skills necessary to install, troubleshoot and repair electrical transmission and distribution systems. Skills development focuses on proper pulling, tensioning and installation of electrical cables.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Demonstrate safe operation of a winch truck.
- Demonstrate safe operation of a load lift bucket.
- Operate a conductor tensioner machine.
- Operate a take-up reel.
- Prepare transformer for use.
- Install a transformer.
- Install compression connectors.
- Assemble brackets for pole and arm mounted cutouts.
- Assemble three-phase equipment arm with bracket and braces.
- Assemble equipment arms for distribution systems.
