Description In this course, students review a comprehensive study of the hospital-wide clinical quality improvement program, external regulatory agencies requirements. Students evaluate topics such as credentialing, clinical quality improvement, reimbursement concepts, utilization management and risk management processes. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Summarize regulatory requirements and reimbursement methodologies.
- Determine compliance of health record content within the health organization.
- Analyze data for the facility-wide quality management, utilization management, risk management and other patient care related studies.
- Identify the current laws, accreditation, licensure and certification standards related to health information requirements.
- Apply policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with external regulations and standards.
- List the organizational characteristics, functions and health information requirements for non-acute care facilities.
