MMC 225 - Content Management Systems Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Prerequisites: Working knowledge of 64-bit computer systems and folder structures.
Description This course is designed to teach the implementation and development of content management systems (CMSs). Topics include installation processes, administration menus, Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds, customizable layouts, flexible account privileges and integration of CMS plugins. Through the course, students practice with current CMSs and examine examples of usage in multiple industries. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Customize the installation and configuration of current CMSs.
- Identify the differences between a widget and a plugin.
- Implement industry-specific plugins.
- Modify CMS themes for creating interactive web content.
- Employ built-in accessibility tools in CMSs.
