THE 210 - Acting for Television Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Description In this introduction to television and film acting techniques, students discuss the actor’s relationship to the camera and other technical information. They develop exercises, monologues and scenes which are recorded for personal reflection. Through hands-on projects, students learn skills like hitting their mark and adjustments needed when acting for the lens rather than a live audience. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Analyze video/film acting techniques relevant to acting.
- Develop acting techniques for on-camera performances that are distinguishable from techniques for stage acting.
- Perform scenes and commercial work to gain experience with acting for the camera.
- Present the findings of research requirements for headshots, resumes, auditions and other professional practices.
- Examine the technical requirements for on-camera auditions.
