ALH 109 - Infection Control Credits: 2 2 Lecture Hours
Description This course provides the student with basic concepts regarding infection control, including bloodborne pathogens, immunizations, antibiotic resistance and nosocomial infections. The use of standard precautions and an exposure control plan are also presented. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Identify pathogens and nosocomial (hospital related) infections.
- Compare prevention strategies for nosocomial infections.
- Explain the use of exposure prevention strategies.
- Analyze an exposure control plan.
