ART 129 - Printmaking 1

Description
This course is an introduction to various printmaking processes, including relief, stencil and intaglio. Students learn the proper use of tools, inks and paper through exploration and the production of edition prints. Students utilize the design process to develop and refine their concepts for use in printing.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Identify techniques, processes and materials used in printmaking.
- Demonstrate basic proficiency in image making using various printmaking techniques.
- Create editions through the processes of relief, stencil and intaglio.
- Demonstrate safe use of tools and materials.
- Critique prints with relevant and accurate communication using appropriate terminology.
