CAR 105 - Carpentry Drafting and Blueprint Reading 1 Credits: 2 2 Lecture Hours
Description CAR 105 introduces students to the foundational skills in interpreting technical, isometric and building plans essential for carpentry. Students gain expertise in navigating and applying Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) concepts to drafting and blueprint reading through critical analysis of three-dimensional, sectional, schematic and exploded views. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Distinguish different types of construction drawings found in blueprints.
- Recognize line types and dimensioning in drafting contexts.
- Interpret symbols and abbreviations to convey blueprint information accurately.
- Analyze plot, foundation, floor and framing plans to assess construction requirements.
- Evaluate the role and integration of specifications within construction documents.
