BAS 180CP - Cooperative Education Credits: 4 200 Cooperative Ed Hours
Prerequisites: Completion of 6 credits of BAS courses
Description Cooperative Education provides students with a working experience in their discipline and develops their ability to understand and perform appropriately in the dynamic work environment. To earn 4 credits, students must work a minimum of 200 hours; total number of co-op hours may be higher as defined by the department. In order to participate and enroll in Cooperative Education, students must meet the following criteria: Learning Outcomes
- Assigned to and expected to graduate from a career-based academic program
- Completed 30 college credits with at least 12 credits in their selected or approved major
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
- Secured a paid or unpaid internship site (minimum of one month prior to the semester)
- Have faculty, department head and academic division dean approval for course section to be added to the schedule
- Secure any clearances required by the employer/organization
- Follow established processes; complete and submit all required forms
Students who successfully complete this course acquire general knowledge, skills and abilities that align with CCAC’s definition of an educated person.
