NUR 120 - Health Assessment Concepts for Nursing Practice

Description
This course emphasizes holistic assessment of an adult including head-to-toe assessment skills, interviewing techniques and diagnostic data analysis through didactic instruction and simulated lab experience. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Articulate clinical judgment as it relates to normal and abnormal physical assessment findings.
- Demonstrate caring with respect for cultural attitudes and beliefs related to health promotion and assessment.
- Demonstrate therapeutic communication during the interview and physical assessment process.
- Identify learning needs of patients and assess readiness to learn with respect to cultural attitudes and beliefs related to health promotion.
- Articulate rationale for utilization of evidence-based practice.
