PLH 101 - Plumbing Skills 1

Prerequisites: HAC 120  or SEM 105  

 
Description
This course introduces students to residential plumbing tools, materials and fittings in both a classroom and laboratory setting. Students learn safe usage of tools to perform basic plumbing tasks. Conservation methods are introduced which promote a green environment.


Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

  1. Demonstrate the safe use of power and hand tools.
  2. Identify the different types of pipe materials and their purposes.
  3. Compare common types of plumbing fittings.
  4. Label valves and devices used in plumbing systems.
  5. Outline safety devices and their purpose in residential and commercial plumbing.
  6. Evaluate conservation methods which promote a green environment.
