PLH 101 - Plumbing Skills 1 Credits: 4 4 Skills Lab Hours
Prerequisites: HAC 120 or SEM 105
Description This course introduces students to residential plumbing tools, materials and fittings in both a classroom and laboratory setting. Students learn safe usage of tools to perform basic plumbing tasks. Conservation methods are introduced which promote a green environment. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Demonstrate the safe use of power and hand tools.
- Identify the different types of pipe materials and their purposes.
- Compare common types of plumbing fittings.
- Label valves and devices used in plumbing systems.
- Outline safety devices and their purpose in residential and commercial plumbing.
- Evaluate conservation methods which promote a green environment.
