PLT 121 - Plumbing Drafting/Blueprint Reading 1

Description
In this course students comprehensively study technical drawings and plans relevant to the plumbing industry with a focus on isometric, sectional and schematic representations. Students thoroughly discuss Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles and their application in plumbing.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

  1. Interpret technical drawings, including three-view, sectional, schematic, exploded and isometric representations.
  2. Apply principles for interpreting drawings to real-world job specifications.
  3. Create isometric sketching to depict plumbing systems.
  4. Analyze Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles in the context of sustainable plumbing.
  5. Design plumbing system installations according to specified requirements.
  6. Identify complex issues in commercial plumbing installations.
  7. Determine resolutions for commercial plumbing installation issues.
