PLT 145 - Plumbing Code 2 Credits: 2 2 Lecture Hours
Description In this course, students thoroughly examine the principles and practices for supplying potable water and safely removing wastewater in compliance with local plumbing codes. The practical application of codes, drawing interpretation and environmentally responsible practices within the plumbing industry are emphasized. Green applications and practices are described. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Apply local plumbing codes to enhance water supply and waste removal systems.
- Create systems to provide safe drinking water and manage waste, adhering to code requirements.
- Interpret plumbing codes for residential, commercial and institutional structures.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for plumbing residential, commercial and institutional structures.
- Assess code stipulations for managing sewage, waste and stormwater.
- Articulate the role and application of sustainable materials and methods in plumbing.
