FLM 260 - Documentary Production 2 Credits: 4 4 Skills Lab Hours
Prerequisites: FLM 160 Documentary Production 1 Description In this course, students work together to author a nonfiction film. Students execute their plans to make a documentary by collaborating with their classmates. They apply narrative structure and production techniques in the making of their film. Throughout the course of the semester, students deliver a finished festival-ready short documentary film. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Apply advanced production skills through the making of a cinematic nonfiction film.
- Critique working versions of films through peer review.
- Design plans for creative and cinematic films through the completion of a final production notebook.
- Compose detailed progress reports to track your progress.
- Solve creative-critical production questions through a collaborative filming plan.
- Prepare a film festival submission plan for the distribution of a short documentary film.
