Description
This course is designed to provide beginning plumbing students with a fundamental knowledge of the use and care of tools necessary for the performance of trade responsibility. Special emphasis is given to the proper procedures employed in producing a safe and healthy work environment. Laboratory sessions in soldering and brazing are conducted.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

Utilize appropriate tools for plumbing tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Identify potential safety and health hazards present in plumbing environments.
Perform soldering and brazing of pipes to industry standards.
Implement Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations pertinent to plumbing.
Characterize the protocols for maintaining a safe plumbing workspace.
Apply environmental conservation practices within the plumbing field.
