EAL 062 - EAL Communication in English Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Prerequisites: EAL placement test
Description This course helps multilingual and non-native speakers become better English speakers. Students practice talking with others in different situations by joining in conversations and sharing ideas in group discussions. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Comprehend spoken English in various contexts.
- Create speeches for argumentative and informative purposes.
- Perform a five-minute dialogue project with a classmate.
- Identify the appropriate approach to discussion based on context.
- Recognize social cues, formalities and signals in verbal and non-verbal communication in English.
