GEO 101 - World Geography Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Description This course examines the earth’s surface, its geophysical features and its economic importance. Students explore how climate, soil and natural resources shape different regions. A key focus is understanding how these factors, along with transportation, influence economic, political and cultural development. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Explain the interaction between humans and their physical environment.
- Distinguish between developed and developing geographic regions.
- Identify the impact and role of climate, soil and natural resources.
- Analyze the impact of geophysical features on transportation.
- Analyze the physical and environmental landscape.
- Identify the impact of geophysical features on economic, political and cultural development.
