HON 134H - Honors Solutions to Climate Change: A Multidisciplinary Approach, EXPERIMENTAL

Description
This course, suitable for non-science and science majors, is an exploration of climate change, its effects on natural areas and human society, and the many solutions that can help combat its effects. Students will understand the basic science of climate change and examine solutions from scientific and cultural perspectives. The course will include a variety of media and focus on critical thinking and problem solving. Students will examine local issues and design a solution to a local problem of their choice. 
Learning Outcomes
  1. Explain the basic mechanism of climate change. 
  2. Analyze the effectiveness of various nature-based and cultural solutions. 
  3. Assess the opportunities and barriers to the implementation of climate change solutions. 
  4. Select a regional climate-related problem and design a solution. 
  5. Communicate the importance of climate change solutions in easy-to-understand terms.
