MDR 206 - Legal Aspects of Health Information Credits: 2 1 Lecture Hours 2 Lab Hours Prerequisites: MDR 100 This course presents a comprehensive study of the legal aspects of health records and health information. Topics include an introduction to the fundamentals of law and the U.S. legal system; health information laws and regulations; confidentiality, privacy and security concepts; release of information policies and procedures; and ethical issues in health information management.
