SOW 101 - Introduction to Social Work Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours Prerequisites: Eligible for ENG 100 This course is a survey of American social work including its historical roots, its major processes (social casework, social group work and community organization) and its settings. Special attention is paid to the role of the social worker in the alleviation of community problems. Coursework in this area provides students with the knowledge and values of social work at the introductory level.
