SUR 110 - Surgical & Central Service Technology 1 Credits: 5 4 Lecture Hours 2 Lab Hours This course is designed to acquaint the student with the Operating Room and Central Service. The student is introduced to the environment, the history of surgery, legal and ethical responsibilities of the health care professional, professionalism and human relationships, computers, robotics and physics as they relate to surgery and Central Service. Emphasis is placed on asepsis, infection control, basic instrumentation, sterilization, disinfection and basic patient care skills. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate.
