MDR 103 - Healthcare Statistics Credits: 2 2 Lecture Hours
Prerequisites: MDR 100 , CIT 100 , Math Elective
Description This course will present an introduction to the basic and most frequently used health care statistics. Students will learn terms, definitions and formulas used in computing health care statistics. Other topics inlude data presentation, report generation and information on the collection, preparation and use of vital statistics. This course requires a per credit health career fee; Check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Comprehend basic descriptive statistics.
- Calculate and interpret basic healthcare institutional statistics.
- Prepare vital records such as birth, death and fetal death certificates.
- Collect, organize and present healthcare data.
- Use common software packages for data presentation.
