PHL 111 - Religions of the World

Description
This course is a description of the origins, development and manifestations of major world religions. Students explore how people of different faiths practice and express their beliefs. Similarities and differences of different faiths are emphasized.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Describe the variety and details of belief systems of the major world religions.
- Identify the root terms of the major world religions.
- Describe how people of different faiths practice and express their beliefs through worship and ritual.
- Explain the relationship between religious practice and belief.
- Relate the commonalities found in all religions.
- Explain the sociocultural histories of the major world religions.

- Sectarian developments and differences
