ART 103 - Art History - Ancient Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Description This is a course to develop an understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and artistic periods of Western Civilization from the pre-historic through medieval Europe to the Renaissance. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Identify, in a chronologic order, major western artistic periods, and eras, from pre-history through medieval Europe to the Renaissance.
- Describe the role that art played in the development of civilization as language and invention.

- Chronological survey of western pre-historic art and major artistic eras and periods through medieval Europe to the Renaissance.
- Overview of the rise of civilization through major artistic periods and the communicative and technological role that art played in the evolution of western civilization from the pre-historic through the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
