DIT 103 - Nutrition Assessment Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Co-requisites: DIT 106
Description This course introduces the student to the application of the basic principles of normal nutrition. Students will learn how to collect and interpret data to be used by a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) or made available to a Registered Dietitian (RD) for interpretation. This course includes completing diet histories and calculating nutrient composition of diets using a computer program and skin fold measurements. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Participate in advocacy on local, state or national legislative and regulatory issues or policies impacting the nutrition and dietetics profession. (CNDT 2.12)
- Perform specific activities of the Nutrition Care Process as assigned by registered dietitian nutritionists in accordance with the Scope of Nutrition and Dietetics Practice for individuals, groups and populations in a variety of settings. (CNDT 3.2)
