SOE 206 - Backflow Tester Certification, Experimental Credits: 2 2 Lecture Hours
Description This backflow tester certification course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to observe and test backflow prevention devices under laboratory conditions. Lectures will cover the history of backflow control, the principles and methods of correction and the types of cross connection which can occur. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Recognize new and traditional designs of cross-connection control devices.
- Recognize a variety of testing equipment.
- Use test procedures, utilize documentation and comply with industry regulations.
- Recognize common cross connections related to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and irrigation systems.
- Disassemble backflow devices.
