Digital Design, Certificate (176)


This program will develop the students technical and aesthetic skill necessary for entry-level positions in the print or web based graphic communication field. This program focuses on graphic design, typography, imaging and conceptual development for students to find employment as a production artist, graphic designer, illustrator, desktop publisher, web developer or freelance designer. Graduate may also elect to transfer to a four-year institution.

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the synergistic relationship of type and image to convey a message on behalf of a client.
  2. Integrate visual and verbal information within a grid structure.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency with industry standard software as it applies to graphic design.
  4. Use the principles of design, color theory, illustration and image-making skills.
