Students selecting the General Ultrasound field of study will perform examinations on the abdominal organs, the thyroid gland, as well as other structures. Ultrasound studies in obstetrics and gynecology are included under the General Ultrasound Field of study. General sonographers work in hospital radiology departments, doctors’ offices, clinics or mobile services The objective of the General Ultrasound field of study is to prepare competent entry-level general sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains.
