Certificate

This program addresses individuals with a technical orientation, including college graduates from other fields or already working in a different area of Information Technology (IT), interested in a career that provides technical support of a computer network. 

This program provides students with specific technical competencies for entry-level employment opportunities as a network support specialist. Their duties include managing an organization’s servers and desktop and mobile equipment, ensuring data storage networks work properly and ensuring employee workstations are working efficiently when connected to a computer network. Students interested in later obtaining industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CIsco CCNA can benefit from the knowledge and skills provided by this program.

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:

  1. Install network hardware and software.
  2. Make needed upgrades and repairs to networks and ensure that systems are operating correctly.
  3. Maintain network and computer system security.
  4. Evaluate and optimize network or system performance.
