Minimum Credits to Graduate: 60–70
1 Students who begin their mathematics sequence at MAT 201 - Calculus 1 are exempt from taking MAT 142 - Pre-Calculus. Instead, students should continue with Mathematics courses that align with their transfer plan
2 Computer Information Technology electives must be numbered 100 or higher and selected in consultation with a transfer counselor and/or academic advisor
3 Humanities electives must be numbered 100 or higher and from the following disciplines: Art History and Studio Art (ART), American Sign Language and Culture (ASL), Dance (DAN), English Writing and Literature (ENG beyond the level of 102), Foreign Culture and Language (FCL), Journalism (JRN), Music Theory and Practice (MUS), Philosophy (PHL), Speech (SPH), or Theatre (THE).
4 Science electives with a lab must be numbered 100 or higher, four credits, upper level, within a sequence, and from the following disciplines: Biology (BIO), Chemistry (CHM), Physics (PHY)
5 The majority of STEM disciplines require Calculus at the Bachelor’s level, so students are encouraged to take MAT 147 - College Trigonometry as their second math elective in order to be prepared to take MAT 201 - Calculus 1. Students should consult with a transfer counselor and their preferred baccalaureate institution when choosing a course to fulfill this elective
6 Social Science electives must be numbered 100 or higher and from the following disciplines: Anthropology (ANT), Criminal Justice and Criminology (CJC), Early Education and Child Development (ECD), Economics (ECO), Ethnic and Diversity Studies (ETH), Geography (GEO), History (HIS), Homeland Security (HLS), Paralegal (PAL), Political Science (POL), Psychology (PSY), Sociology (SOC), Social Work (SOW).
7 Major Field and Math & Science electives should be selected in consultation with a transfer counselor and/or academic advisor and align with the student’s transfer plan. Students must complete a minimum of 18 credits selected from Information Technology, Mathematics and Science disciplines.
8 Speech electives must be numbered 100 or higher. SPH 101 is recommended. Students should consult with a transfer counselor and their preferred baccalaureate institution when choosing a course to fulfill this elective
