Associate of Science
This program is designed to prepare students who have work experience in building construction for advancement to positions of management. Students study the numerous building construction phases to develop an overview and understanding of the building construction industry. Coursework focuses on commercial construction applications and evolving sustainable technology.
Courses are scheduled during evenings and weekends, enabling students to maintain full-time employment in their trade while completing degree requirements.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Apply construction management principles to perform supervisory and administrative functions on building projects.
- Interpret construction plans and specifications to support project planning and execution.
- Estimate material, labor and equipment costs to prepare accurate construction project bids.
- Demonstrate leadership and communication skills to coordinate personnel and maintain project workflow.
- Evaluate sustainable construction technologies to enhance environmental performance in building projects.
