The Associate of Science (A.S.) in Entrepreneurial Design & Manufacturing prepares students for careers at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, product development, and entrepreneurship. This program builds on the one-year certificate by expanding technical depth in areas such as computer numerical control (CNC) machining, robotics, additive manufacturing and design for manufacturing. Students apply these skills through team-based projects and industry-partnered capstone experiences that simulate real-world product development cycles. Integrated business coursework in entrepreneurship, small business management and applied economics ensures that graduates not only understand how to design and manufacture products, but also how to evaluate opportunities, manage resources and launch ventures in today’s competitive marketplace.

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:

  1. Apply advanced computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM) tools, digital fabrication methods and manufacturing processes to prototype and produce products.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency with additive, subtractive, and hybrid manufacturing workflows, including CNC machining and robotics.
  3. Integrate electronics, automation and AI-assisted design methods into product development.
  4. Evaluate manufacturability, cost and scalability when developing new products.
  5. Collaborate with peers and industry partners to manage complex design and manufacturing projects.
  6. Apply entrepreneurial skills to develop business models, assess market opportunities and support new venture creation.
  7. Communicate technical and business concepts effectively through written, visual and oral formats.
