Certificate
This certificate provides college courses to promote competency in English composition, mathematics, analytical reasoning, cultural diversity and computer literacy. These courses cultivate valuable workplace skills and knowledge of the world essential for careers in the 21st century. This certificate also provides a basic building block for many Associate degree programs at the College.
Upon successful completion of this program, the graduate will:
- Write critically.
- Speak effectively in a professional environment.
- Demonstrate college level mathematical skills.
- Distinguish among the experiences of diverse cultures.
- Demonstrate computer literacy.

- ENG 101 - English Composition 1 Credits: 3
- Computer Information Technology Elective Credits: 3–4
- Mathematics Elective Credits: 3–4 1
- Social Science Elective Credits: 3
- Speech Elective Credits: 3
Minimum Credits to Graduate: 33–36
1 Mathematics courses must be higher than MAT 090 - Algebra Fundamentals .
2 For the General Education Certificate, developmental courses and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses do not satisfy the program core and general electives, including ENG 100 , DVS 101 and DVS 103 , ESL 100 , and ESL 101 . Student Development Services (SDS) courses do not satisfy the program core and general elective requirements
