Associate of Science
This program prepares students to be administrative assistants through the effective use of essential business skills, technology skills and office administration skills. Upon completion of the program, graduates may seek employment as a secretary or administrative assistant in a business, medical, legal, educational, governmental or industrial office.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Apply conventional office management techniques.
- Apply essential information technology skills within an office environment.
- Create properly formatted business documents using various computer applications.
- Organize work flow and coordinate office activities.

Minimum Credits to Graduate: 62–65
Students pursuing a career as a general administrative assistant should consider any Business course for their restricted electives.
Students pursuing a career as a legal office administrative assistant should consider the following restricted electives: BUS 251 , PAL 101 , PAL 111 , PAL 105 and PAL 121 .
Students admitted to the Medical Assistant Certificate or the Medical Insurance Certificate programs may apply ALH 140 , and MDA or MIS courses to these restricted electives to earn the Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant.
Restricted Electives
Students pursuing a career as a general administrative assistant should consider any Business course for their restricted electives.
Students pursuing a career as a legal office administrative assistant should consider the following restricted electives: BUS 251 , PAL 101 , PAL 111 , PAL 105 and PAL 121 .
