Associate of Science
The Computer-aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Technology degree prepares the student for employment in the modern CADD environment. Students are skilled in preparing complete, concise and accurate computer-based engineering communications.
Students will function as a member of the engineering team demonstrating professionalism, responsibility and confidence. Through multiple projects, students are skilled in solving both two-dimensional and three-dimensional technical problems involving parametric and solid modeling using modern CADD programs.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Be proficient with basic and advanced two-dimensional and three-dimensional CAD commands to produce engineering drawings.
- Generate an engineering drawing showing the object in its completed condition containing all the necessary information, notes and dimensioning to bring it to that final state.
- Apply geometric construction techniques in the construction of technical drawings.
- Apply descriptive geometry methods to the solution of spatial problems.
- Prepare engineering drawings using two-dimensional and three-dimensional CAD software in a professional manner using knowledge of drafting room practices and techniques.
