Anesthesia Technologist, A.S. (462.2)   Removed HPE elective. ANE-221C Clinical moved to second summer. ANE-221C and ANE-222C clinicals reduced from 4 to 3 credits. Total credits reduced from 71-73 to 68.
ASEP/ASSET/CAP Manufacturer Automotive Technology Program, A.A.S. (507.4)   This program is now an Associate in Applied Science. ATE-291CP Coop included in all Fall/Spring terms and removed from Summer term. Math or Science elective included in second semester. English elective moved to third semester. Total credits reduced from 68-69 to 64-65.
Automotive Technology Program, A.A.S. (349.4)    This program is now an Associate in Applied Science. ATE-291CP Coop included in all Fall/Spring terms and removed from Summer term. Math or Science elective included in second semester. English elective moved to third semester. Total credits reduced from 68-69 to 64-65.
Automotive Technology Program, Certificate (350.3)   ATE-291CP Coop included in all Fall/Spring terms and removed from Summer term. Total credits increased from 50 to 52.
Business Management, A.S. (385.3)   Tracks/program specializations have been removed. Focus electives may be chosen in the areas of Marketing, Small Business, or Human Resources.
Criminal Justice & Criminology, A.S. (600.7)   Tracks/program specializations have been removed. Minimum credits to graduate have increased to 63 credits.
Dietetic Technician, A.S. (590.3)   Removed CIT-100; moved PSY-101 to third semester. Minimum credits to graduate have decreased from 72 to 69 credits.
Electrical Construction Technology (IBEW), A.S. (608.3)   General education courses prescribed by semester. Extra electives were removed.
Electrical Distribution Technology, A.S. (708.2)   Moved EDT-207 and EDT-220P to first semester; removed EDT-109 and EDT-206; 7 credits of summer practicum EDT-221P added. Minimum credits to graduate increased from 60 to 63.
Electrical Distribution Technology, Certificate (702.1)   Moved EDT-207 to first semester; removed CIT-115, MAT-191, EDT-109 and EDT-208. Summer practicum changed to 7 credits. Minimum credits to graduate decreased from 44 to 38.
Health Information Technology, A.S. (550.5)   Mathematics course MAT 161 Elementary Statistics  or MAT 165 Probability & Statistics  replaces HIT-103.

Discipline course numbers have changed to HTE; many of these courses are equated to the former equivalent HOM course. Restricted electives may be chosen based on career path interest.
Mechatronics Technology, A.S. (722.3)    Focus track electives have been replaced with a more streamlined list of Restricted Electives. Students also have the option to transfer in Process Technology courses from CCBC.
Mechatronics Technology, Certificate (723.2)   Certificate has been updated to mirror the first year of the Mechatronics A.S. degree. MEC-111 added to first semester. MEC-102 or MEC-109 moved to second semester.
Occupational Therapy Assistant, A.S. (587.2)   Based on accreditation standards, OTA0211C Fieldwork course was reduced from 2 credits to 1 credit. As a result, minimum credits to graduate has been reduced for the program.
Radiation Therapy, A.S. (565.3)   This program sequence will now start in the Spring semester, instead of Fall. MAT-142 no longer required. A new course RTH 222 Registry Review  has been added to the last semester. There are two additional program pre-requisites: ALH 140 Medical Terminology  and BIO 161 Anatomy & Physiology 1 . Credit totals have also changed.
Radiation Therapy, Certificate (566.2)   Minimum credits to graduate changed from 36 to 38.
Surgical Technologist, A.S. (530.2)   Students may select either BIO 110 Introduction to Biological Science  or BIO 151 General Biology 1  in the first semester.

Updates to Policies and Content

Revised Drop/Add/Withdraw procedures and deadline. Students may add a class with instructor permission up until end of the first week of class, effective Fall 2023. See Academic Planning, Registration .

Update to Overload for Summer. Students are limited to enrolling in 12 credits for Summer term, unless they have permission from Adivising. See Academic Planning, Academic Advising .

Dual Enrollment Clarification. See new rules for high school students who have not yet reached junior status at Getting Started, Dual Enrollment .

What Do These Changes Mean for You?

Updated Programs

Students who are applying for the Fall 2023 term and later must follow the requirements for the updated programs. See the Program Requirements section at Understanding Academic Programs  for more details on these rules. If a student started a program under a former version and has not sat out for more than one year, they will following the requirements for the original program version and catalog year when they started. Any current, continuing student in an inactive program may elect to change to the more recent program version but it not required to do so. See an Academic Advisor if you have any further questions.

Deleted Programs

If the college discontinues a program completely, students currently assigned to the program will be allowed to complete the requirements of the degree or certificate. This option will remain in force for continually enrolled students for the duration of time expected for the program (normally two years for an associate degree or one year for a certificate).
