Since its founding in 1966, CCAC has flourished, becoming the educational powerhouse it is today a nationally renowned two-year college dedicated to serving all members of the community. From groundbreaking student success initiatives to top-ranked academic and career-based programs, CCAC continues to be the college of choice for nearly one out of every three adults in the Greater Pittsburgh metropolitan region.
As an open-admissions institution, CCAC does not require college entrance examinations. To enroll as a full-time student, applicants must have a high school diploma or Pennsylvania GED certificate or must be at least 18 years of age with experience reasonably equivalent to a GED.
CCCAC educates more than 32,000 credit and 28,000 non-credit students annually, but students can expect an average class size of just 19 students. With the extensive network of four campuses and four centers located strategically throughout the region, in addition to a growing array of online courses and programs, CCAC is readily accessible to residents of Allegheny County and beyond.
CCAC’s Online Learning courses make it possible for students to earn college credit through flexible nontraditional classes. Busy professionals, individuals with family responsibilities and people with challenging schedules can benefit from Online Learning.

The award-winning Public Relations and Marketing Department works to promote CCAC and its activities through strategic, cost-effective advertising and marketing campaigns, college publications and overall branding efforts, among other activities. The department oversees the public face of the college, providing design, branding and message development assistance to projects large and small.
