BUS 204 - Labor Relations Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Prerequisites: BUS 101
Description This course aquaints students with the history and process of labor relations in the United States. The management of a collective bargaining agreement within the context of the environment in which they operate is examined. Students explore the collective bargaining process, grievances, strikes and the impact on the employee. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Explain the terms, concepts and trends related to labor relations.
- Examine the negotiation and implementation of a collective bargaining agreement.
- Outline the steps in the formation of a union.
- Analyze the impact of legislation on labor relations.
- Assess the impact of the labor relation movement on current practices.
