HEO 105 - Heavy Equip Regulation & Safety 2

Description
Building on the foundation established in HEO 101 , this course advances students’ expertise in handling, regulations and safety procedures associated with hazardous waste site remediation. Through practical exercises outfitted in personal protective equipment, students master the equipment operation and decontamination processes necessary for safe and effective site remediation.


Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

  1. Explain safety hazards inherent in hazardous waste site remediation.
  2. Describe regulations that dictate the role of heavy equipment operators in hazardous waste remediation.
  3. Articulate the correct application of personal protective equipment.
  4. Use proper procedures for donning and decontaminating personal protective gear.
  5. Operate heavy equipment proficiently to remove hazardous materials in simulated environments.
