CAR 106 - Carpentry Drafting and Blueprint Reading 2 Credits: 2 2 Lecture Hours
Prerequisites: CAR 105
Description Expanding on CAR 105, this course advances students’ skills in interpreting complex technical drawings and building plans. Student learning reinforces the ability to conceptualize detailed roofing and ceiling designs, concrete stair framing and bulkheads through various drafting techniques, with continued integration of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Create accurate sketches of diverse roof designs.
- Develop plans for multiple ceiling styles.
- Design structural framing for concrete staircases.
- Produce technical drafts of bulkheads for architectural spaces.
- Integrate LEED principles into blueprint drafting.
