PLT 221 - Plumbing Drafting/Blueprint Reading 2 Credits: 1 1 Lecture Hours 1 Lab Hours
Prerequisites: PLT 121
Description This course prepares students to supervise complete plumbing installations using commercial plumbing drawings. Students prepare all appropriate documentation for the installations. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) methods are discussed. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Formulate preparation strategies for plumbing permit applications.
- Use an inspection checklist tailored to advanced blueprint reading.
- Summarize the International Residential Code (IRC) and local plumbing codes.
- Apply International Residential Code (IRC) and local plumbing codes to project scenarios.
- Assess modification requirements and integrate them into installation plans.
- Advocate for LEED-accredited methods within project designs.
- Demonstrate appropriate LEED-accredited methods within project designs.
