PLT 105 - Introduction to Plumbing Code

Description
This course describes drainage and distribution systems designed and built for state, county and local codes and regulations. Emphasis is placed on water supply, drainage using Article XV of the current plumbing code and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) concepts.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

Apply drainage and venting principles within plumbing frameworks.
Interpret Article XV regulations from the plumbing code.
Demonstrate proper plumbing practices in conjunction with the Article XV regulations from the plumbing code.
Articulate water distribution terminology, valve functions and the use of sustainable materials.
Identify principles of water treatment and their applications.
Design ventilation systems for plumbing, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Apply LEED standards to foster sustainable plumbing practices.
